Lighthouse gets PracticeWorks to RUN on Vista....but there is more to the story - see this post for details

Members report FUNCTIONALITY TURNED OFF by Corporate in v6 and higher based on status of Support Payment - so if you want to use the product you already paid for - you MUST pay support or lose functionality....very scary (v6 and higher only) - see this post for details.

Also, all the details about a patient's referral source that has been gathered throughout all previous versions, and has been available to PracticeScript (for things like the Automation Expert, the Analysis Expert, and user-defined Contact Experts) is now LOCKED AWAY! They converted all the data, but no one thought to make the new data available to PracticeScript.

We DO NOT recommend installing version 7.0, unless you can do it in a completely safe, test-only environment!!! There is such a dismal record of testing prior to releasing, ever since the QA department was disbanded in Indy and reconstituted in Atlanta, that it is VERY likely to be absolutely full of bugs, both minor and major. See this post for more details.

Patch 6.0.16 has been released and installed by several Club members, and so far, there don't seem to be any NEW problems introduced by it, and it does seem to fix the very BAD problem they introduced in 6.0.15 (that made Analysis Experts and User Defined Contact Experts run so slow as to be almost unusable).See this post for more information .

Version 6.0.15 has a very nasty bug that makes Analysis Experts and User Defined Contact Experts run VERY, VERY slowly. If you managed to get onto 6.0.15, you should update to 6.0.16 immediately.

FYI, the "best" version of PW currently available is 5.0.5. It addresses the account splitting issue as much as it's going to be addressed, and doesn't have the annoying CDT-5 "nagging" that was added in 5.0.7. If you are on, or can get to, one of these versions, we advise you to get/stay there for now. See this article for more information

All Lighthouse Packs are available in v6 Format AND they work fine with v7 as well! please see this article for details on how to use. If you get a message that you cannot use the Expert Exchange and need to call support - call us first! We can re-enable the service to function regardless of your current support status.

One of the questions we are most often asked by new clients is "If three family members all have an appointment on the same day, are they all going to get the reminder messages?". The answer has always been "Yes" - and even though it's rarely an issue, we have been asked about it often enough that we finally did something about it.

Effective immediately, we will "cluster" all messages of the same type to members of the same family, if individually, they would be sent within a short amount of time of each other. You might have to take some action in order to have these new family messages work for you, so please read the rest of this article!

We'll be the first to admit, our current email templates are nice looking, but not what you'd call "sexy". Very functional, but not exactly "eye candy". But with the release of two brand new templates, that has changed - we think you'll love the way they look, and we're sure your patients will notice, too.

We created for one simple reason: to help dental practices "get found on the Web". One of the things that Internet search engines take into account is patient reviews - and RateADentist is all about patient reviews. By having a lot of your patients post reviews on RateADentist, you improve your chances of getting a good ranking by the search engines.

Another thing the search engines like is "relevant" websites, and one of the ways they determine if a site is relevant is by looking at all the other websites that are linked to it, and the relevance of those sites. We have designed RateADentist so that every RateADentist user's website will point to it, and vice versa. Eventually, there will be thousands of dental websites all pointing to each other through RateADentist, which should make it appear to be very relevant to the search engines.

So when someone searches for "dentist indianapolis", for example, the RateADentist site itself may come up high in the "organic" search results. Hopefully, the prospective patient will look at it, and search for dentists near them, and of course, the RateADentist clients with the highest number of reviews will appear at the top of the search results.

  Lighthouse: Lighthouse Becomes First Ruby Sponsor of AADOM

If you don't know about the AADOM - the American Association of Dental Office Managers - you should! It's the only organization we know of that's dedicated to furthering the profession of dental office management and administration. If your practice has someone in the role of office manager, or practice administrator, or office coordinator, or any of a dozen other titles that means "the person who is mainly responsible for the administrative aspect of your practice" - you should seriously consider AADOM membership for that person.
